Description

In my Brand Identity course, I was assigned to construct the brand of my own charity organization using the creative process. My company, called BridgeSport, is a non-profit dedicated to empowering Niagara’s youth with opportunities to participate in organized sports. Through donated equipment, fundraising efforts, and community events, BridgeSport strives to create an inclusive environment where children aged 18 and under can experience the joy of sports, regardless of their background or financial situation. The goal of this project was to create an effective visual language that reflected these values and present it through a brand book as the presentation of the term’s work.

Final Brand Book

This brand book is the culmination of my work in this course, showcasing the visual elements of BridgeSport, from logos and typefaces to stationery items and merchandise. Although the book is largely based on visuals, I also need to accommodate written portions, such as explanations for when to apply certain logos or the importance of elements like our modular icons or colour scheme. This is to ensure that company employees and partners understand how to adhere to the BridgeSport brand and create visuals that are consistent with existing promotional and design materials.

Logo Exploration

An abstract mark with free-flowing designs that emulate the movement of sport, as well as the waterways of the Niagara Region. The wordmark is there to reinforce the brand name.

A combination logo with a modern sans serif wordmark and a pictorial mark that crosses between a bridge and a net for racquet sports. The hand-drawn nature of the icon reflects the youth that BridgeSport wants to help lift up.

A wordmark logo with a hand-drawn typeface and smooth corners for a friendlier, all-ages approach. The letter “O” is perfectly rounded and allows for modular sports ball icons that can be used to create alternate logo variations.

As part of the initial concepts for BridgeSport, I conducted a mind map based on the brand name and symbols of the Niagara Region. Then, I created a number of logo sketches done in various formats (wordmark, emblem, mascot, etc.).
